The existing portion of the home had low ceilings. The addition creates a dramatic shift in height within the open floor plan. The dark gray slate of the fireplace surround contrasts nicely with the clear maple flooring. The floating concrete mantle is original to the house.

The addition has a butterfly roof that wraps 2 sides of the back yard. The existing portion of the house has low sloping roofs facing different directions. The entire house was re-clad with a continuous layer of exterior insulation over walls and roof.

The guest bathroom was remodeled with all new fixtures. A custom floating vanity makes this very narrow bathroom feel more spacious.
