TZS Design completed a partial renovation of this beautiful home in Western Springs, IL. The scope consisted of a full renovation of the kitchen, living room, butler bar, powder room and master bedroom. The kitchen was completely opened up into the great room requiring a 20 foot long structural I-Beam to support the second floor of the home. We decided to make the I-beam a design element by exposing and painting it. The design has a transitional aesthetic combining both traditional and modern lines. Notable design elements for the kitchen include the wood ceiling, custom designed hood by TZS, oversized island and built-in breakfast nook. The butler bar uses waterjet cut marble tile for the full height splash, a hammered stainless-steel sink and sparkling water filtration faucet with wine storage display. The Clients wanted the powder room to have a “wow factor” so TZS installed hand made damask wallcovering throughout and installed a gorgeous semi-precious quartzite top over the storage cabinet. The master bedroom was designed to be a romantic retreat. The room has a feature wall of cherry blossom wallcovering behind the bed, a crystal chandelier and a metallic painted bronze ceiling that reflects the light from the chandelier.
