For this project, our client had a wonderful mostly French art collection with which to inspire the interior. We gave this pre-war Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan a French flair combined with some contemporary vintage pieces. The 1940's dining chairs were updated in a Donghia cut velvet, the French 19th Century portrait hangs above a 1970's lucite and brass console. An Italian Murano chandelier hangs in the dining room over a transitional Baker mahogany table. The soothing blue, grey and creme palette with accents of ebony is elegant, serene and yet updated for a young family.
