We took the proverbial "white box" in a Manhattan high-rise and gave it an elegant yet warm transitional feeling for a bachelor's residence. Adding some architectural details while still keeping the contemporary feel was critical to the overall look. We juxtaposed several different periods: a 1940's Murano chandelier, a 1950's Dunbar oval table, Italian 1940's dining chairs, a contemporary Holly Hunt sofa, lamps from Donghia, a new Tufenkian silk and wool area rug are just a few of the highlights. The palette was kept in soothing creams, beiges, dark browns, olive greens and touches of gold.
