This love-filled little home is over 100 years old, so it is little wonder that the bathroom was in dire need of renovation to accommodate a growing family who had a big wish list for the space. I wanted to make the space functional but also elegant enough to integrate into the character of the home. We stripped the room and of course encountered some head-scratching challenges that one would expect with a property over a century old. Previously there was no shower - a must have with sports-loving boys. I selected sophisticated fittings in gunmetal and herringbone tile with a dark grout to create some drama and a nod to the heritage of the home. The brush granite benchtop will put up with wear and tear and the simple Italian light and white basin is the perfect blend of simple and stunning. The heated towel rail, heated mirror and Schweigen extraction will keep moisture at bay even with multiple users in a short span of time.
