This was an exciting, full renovation in Newmarket. Because the owner wanted to ready it for sale, it was a large project, hence the design choices had to make it possible for a potential buyer to see themselves in the space no matter their individual taste.

We also had to be sensible about the budget so that there would be a good return on investment. Some of the spaces were gloomy, tired and dark so I immediately wanted to lighten things up, especially in the living area.

The orange pop of colour on the front door beckons you to enter from the outdoors. The wallpaper selected for the stairwell adds a bit of elegance and blends beautifully with the greys and neutrals in the living areas and kitchen. Engineered oak was selected for the floor which is durable and sophisticated. The solution-dyed carpet can handle high traffic areas and will last longer than
traditional wool versions. This carpet is also eco-friendly in that it is composed of recycled fibres that is low maintenance and fade resistant.

Engineered stone was used for the countertops and the stainless steel appliances modernise the kitchen. The metallic, glazed, staggered brick gives richness and texture. LED lights on the cabinets are both useful and attractive. Curtains installed above door frames give the illusion of higher ceilings and more airy spaces.
