This lovely couple who just settled here from Australia, wanted a vibrant, vintage living space inside their villa bungalow in Mt Albert. In one word, eclectic is the perfect way to describe their aesthetic. It allowed me to get a little playful with colours, print and fabrics. I wanted to use the long, narrow chairs they picked up from a junk shop and I also wanted to keep the old chandelier that came with the house. The mid-century sideboard provided some much needed surface area for fun decorative items and the television. The superstar of the
room of course is the Nina Campbell wallpaper, a bold focal point that weaves all of the colour concepts together picking up the various greens and blues. The client was besotted with this print so we built the room around it. A custom designed sofa and varied fabrics add an interesting feel and pops of colour. The ottoman was custom made for the space as were the sheer curtains to soften the windows.
